Introduction to PermaDesign
A brief on what it is and why it exists.
The concept of incorporating Permaculture design and values into digital design systems comes from the observation of overlaps between both systems - one rooted in nature and the other of modern technology. It looks at how systems are used in combination with design to create experiences that enable energy to flow and become a major ingredient in the equation.
Why would you want to use an alternative agricultural method in your design process?
Well that is a great question and aside from being able to design landscapes that can benefit the earth and the humans that experience it, there are many takeaways and good reasons that we would want to pay attention to such a way of thinking.
Definition
PermaDesign is a system for designating elemental and systemic form around the function defined by energy flow through digital landscapes, creating natural patterns of design, that are capable of evolving and benefit life in all its forms.
Permaculture design is a system of assembling conceptual, material, and strategic components in a pattern which functions to benefit life in all its forms.
